The Story Behind Our Medical Terminology Book

The Medical Terminology Book started with a problem almost every healthcare student faces in the beginning: medical language can feel like a foreign alphabet. You open a textbook, see long terms packed with letters, and it’s easy to think, “How am I ever going to memorize all this?”

At MedBooks Corner Publishing, we saw that students weren’t struggling because they weren’t smart—they were struggling because the learning method was wrong. Too many resources force you into pure memorization: long lists, repetitive definitions, and no real system for understanding how medical words are actually built.

So we created this book with a different goal:
make medical terminology feel learnable, logical, and usable in real life—not just on exams.

Why Medical Terminology Feels Hard (and How We Fixed It)

Most medical terms aren’t random. They’re constructed using:

  • prefixes (where, when, how many)

  • root words (the main meaning—organ, tissue, system)

  • suffixes (condition, procedure, disease, specialty)

Once you understand that structure, the language stops being scary. You don’t have to memorize every word one by one—you learn the “building blocks” and start decoding terms naturally.

That’s why this book isn’t just a medical dictionary.
It’s a medical terminology workbook that teaches you how to think in medical language.

We built the book to support real students with real schedules. Instead of endless reading, it uses active learning—the same approach that helps information stick long-term.

Inside, you’ll find:

  • 1000+ essential medical terminology terms (organized for easier learning)

  • Practice that strengthens understanding, not just recognition

  • A study-friendly format that fits daily review and exam prep

The goal is simple:
Less guessing. Less “cram and forget.” More confidence.

Great for refresher: Very informative
Medical terminology can be intimidating as it seems like a foreign language at first. But after learning the commonly used prefixes and suffixes as well as studying the chapters with the quizzes, this book makes learning medical terminology much easier.
Medical Terminology is something that is foundational in studies. This is a perfect workbook for Nurses and other professionals to be able to clearly guide their learnings.
